Denier

Hosiery has different sheerness. It is normally expressed as a numerical ‘denier’, ranges from 3 (extremely rare, very thin, barely visible) to 15 (standard sheer) up to 30 (semi opaque) until 100 (opaque). Stockings / Stay Up (Hold Up)

Stockings are a type of hosiery, which is normally worn with a garter belt (suspenders). Stockings with “stay up” technology can be wore independent to a garter belt. They are commonly called Stay Up or Hold Up stockings. They have a band, typically made of highly tractive silicone to resists slipping down the thigh. The top band of the stockings, especially Stay Ups, could be seamless to be wear with figure hugging outfit. Most popular stockings have either lace or patterned top band to create the ultimate romantic look.

Leggings

Footless tights are called leggings, which are worn as fashion accessories to compliment the look. They could be three quarters, full length or stirrup, which has became very fashionable.

Knee Highs

Knee highs are generally just below the knee, generally worn under trousers. Recent fashion trend also see knee highs worn with skirts or dresses. Some knee highs are also therapeutical, such as textured sole to gently massage the feet or compression material to improve circulation.

Backseam

In the old days, stockings are made by cut fabric then sewed together. Today, backseam is fully knitted with a fake seam added up the back, which is considered as a fashion look.

Fishnet

Stockings knitted with a wide open knit resembling a fish net. Fishnet with smaller mesh is also called micronet.

Matte

Matte stocking are made with fabric with a non-lustre finish. These stockings go great with most business outfits where you don't want your legs to be too shiny.
